Lindsay's Snake Page

back

This page will inform you on people’s different kinds of pet snakes. Here are just a few of different pet snakes.

On the left, here is a snow corn snake or albino corn snake. It is one of the most beautiful of corn snakes. These snakes are very easy to tame down in a short time, and will be tolerant to being handled a lot. The snow corn will grow to the same size as a normal corn snake, about 3 to 5 feet. They are a constrictor and their diet consists of mice and other rodents. You should feed them once to twice a week depending on the size of the food and size of the snake. Their food should be dead already. And fresh water in a shallow dish should always be available. For more information on snow corn snakes go to this link: http://www.exotictropicals.com/. Here on the right is another corn snake. It is your normal red corn snake.

And if you look to the right here is a baby Brazilian Rainbow Boa. And under it is a baby female Northern Emerald Tree boa. Some of these snakes get to be very large. They grow from 3.5 to 7 feet long and they can in captivity for 20 years. There are around 9 to 10 subspecies of rainbow boas. You should always have water in their cage. They eat mice and rats. The size of the food depends on how large the snake is. The food should be already dead. The babies should be fed once every week to ten days and with adults they should be fed every ten days to two weeks. Don’t over feed. Here on the left is a pet with a little girl. They do get very large. For more information go to this link: http://photo.redtailboa.org/. or  http://www.theboaphile.com/.

Here on the right is an African Rock Python. Snakes are mostly easy to take care of. All you really have to know is how to feed them and keep their cage clean. Do not be scared, because they can sense fear. A good link for pythons is http://www.pythonpete.com/index.htm/. But if you really want a good snake as a pet I suggest get a corn snake. I had one. It was my favorite snake. They are easy to take care of. I have had lots of different kinds of animals. My sister had a 12 ft. python that slept in the same bad as her. Basically all you have to know to take care of a snake is that they need water in their cage all the time. And depending on what kind of snake it is depends on what type of food you feed it. But the majority of snakes eat mice and rats. Most snakes should be fed dead animals so they don’t harm the snake. Heat rocks and heat lamps are good to have in their cage. So they can stay warm when they are shedding their skin. And all snakes vary in color and size. And there are a lot of different kinds of species. When getting a snake do your research and make sure that you are not getting a poisonous one. But I suggest if it is your first snake to get a corn snake. They are the easiest to tame and take care of. And here are some other different kinds of pet snakes.
